According to the 1920 U.S Census,
Wilhelmina Ottilie Heinz (Hinz?)
immigrated to the United States
around 1882. She was also known
as "Minnie or Mina" It's believed
that Ferdinand Julius Zeckzer
arrived in the U.S. just a couple of
years earlier. They Married in
Muskegon, Michigan on May 18,
1884. Ferdinand became a
Naturalized Citizen on October 6,
1896.
They Married in Muskegon,
Michigan on May 18, 1884.
Interestingly enough, their Marriage Certificate reads, "Joined in Marriage
Fred Sechsr of Laketon, age 28, born in Germany, by occupation a laborer,
and Minna Heinz, of Laketon, age 23, born in Germany, whose maiden name
was Minna Heinz."
Ferdinand Julius Zeckzer: Born Aug 21, 1855, Brandenburg, Germany.
Ferdinand became a Naturalized Citizen of the U.S. on October 6, 1896. The
Certificate of Naturalization lists his name as Fred Zeckzer. Prior to his

of the family). His cause of death is listed as: Myocarditis (The middle layer

One family member that my Grandfather mentioned was "Germany Bill".
From what I could gather, he was the only cousin from Germany to come to
the U.S in 1928. , also referred to by some as "Willie", or Bill Zeckzer (1906 -
1953). I believe his actual name is William. From what I can speculate, he
was a talented radio man. I was lucky enough to reach Gerd Zeckzer in
Germany who was familiar with "Willie" as he referred to him as well. Gerd
has two children in Germany, Ulli and Karin. So, as far as I can tell, the
Zeckzer's in the U.S. are related to Gerd, Ulli and Karin in Germany. A special
thanks to Gerd and Ulli for the time they spent communicating with me and
giving me valuable information on the Zeckzer's.
